A message from Chaparral Dallas.
Dear friends,
As some of you know, I recently closed Chapparal Dallas to walk-in traffic due to some health issues I have been working through. Due to these challenges, I had not yet shared my plans to move to Tennessee to better facilitate work on my wholesale line, Officially Needlepoint, and to transition Chapparal to an online-only store. I have been eagerly anticipating sharing the news with all of you on next week’s ‘Saturday at the Shop.’
Earlier this week, movers packed up my personal belongings (including my own needlepoint treasures), the shop’s inventory of canvases, threads and samples, and the outstanding orders that remained in our care.
Yesterday, during the move, a devastating incident occurred when the moving truck caught fire. Tragically, everything was destroyed.
This has been an incredibly difficult time, and I am utterly devastated. Miraculously, no one was hurt, so I am hanging onto that perspective as I put one foot in front of the other to start over - beginning with the basics like buying a bed, mattress, bedding and personal items. Despite everything, my biggest concern is the impact these events may have on my customers.
Today, I have contacted those affected to resolve any outstanding finishing items which were affected. If you have not been contacted, then your finishing remains with the finisher, and we will contact you when it is completed.
It will take time, and your love and support remains a big source of strength for me (along with Dolly Parton, of course). Thank you for your patience, support and understanding as I navigate this immense loss.
With gratitude,
Heidi
