Saturday at the Shop - February 5, 2022

This week we are showing a larger AND open stitch.  It reminds me on an elegant Chandelier with lots of shiny crystals.

This is a bit of a harder stitch.  At first glance, it appears all the stitches are the same size, but they actually vary from over 2, 3 & 4 canvas threads.  It takes a little bit more time to memorize and get into a "rhythm", but once you do it a few times, you will be off to the races.

We are using 2 threads.  The primary stitch (white stitch in graph below) should be a silk, overdyed floss, wool or velvet.  The "bling" stitch is completely your choice....my favorites are Silk Lame, Neon Rays, Neon Rays +, Fyre Werks, Kreinik and YLI Ribbon Floss.  In our sample below, we used Splendor and Silk Lame.

We love this stitch and think it would make a beautiful background, sky, water or large Santa Coat.  While I have not actually stitched this on a WIP yet, it is on my short list for some Stocking Cuffs I will be stitching this Summer.  I am also giving great contemplation of stitch the Swan on Green and using for the background stitch.....hmmm, anyone want to join me???  Let me know!!
