A take on a double brick stitch, the scattered shimmer brick stitch provides the opportunity to add a small accent to this every day household name stitch. Although named "shimmer" this stitch can be used in a variety of ways, such as using a matte thread in a similar or different color family, opting for a variegated thread, or using a different textured threads such as a ribbon or silk. Zig Zag Ladder - SATS 2/22/25

A play on a parisian stitch, the Zig Zag Ladder adds additional long stitches in between the vertical stitches creating almost a ladder appearance. For the purpose of the diagram the stitches are shown in alternating blue and green color, however, depending on the desired affect for your project you can stick to only one color way. Diagonal Ladder Stitch - SATS 11/7

The diagonal ladder stitch is a jack of all trades! This stitch could work for a background or even smaller areas that need just a tiny bit of detailIt also can be left open, without the tent stitch in between the vertical "ladder"-like stitches or you can fill it in with a sparkly thread for some added detail. Holy Cross Stitch - SATS 12/14

This open stitch adds the perfect amount of detail to your canvas! Start by making a typical cross and add some jazz with a cross stitch on top. Although shown in contrasting colors here, this stitch can also be done with the same thread, adding dimension. The Holy Cross stitch can also be manipulated to be shorter, longer, or stitched closer together, giving you a variety of options depending on your canvas.
