Trellis Diamond Stitch - SATS 10/26/24
Posted by Laura Searle on
A spin on the trellis and scotch stitches, this trellis diamond stitch is ideal for larger areas. Following a four canvas thread count up andover to make up the trellis and variation of the scotch stitch, this background stitch is perfect regardless of the color of the canvas! Given it's full coverage nature, this is a perfect option for both a blank background or maybe one you want to color swap!
Heidi's tip: Use a ribbon or silk for the trellis stitch and use a variegated thread such as straw silk or dinky dyes for the fill in stitch! If you want a little less coverage or to make the fill in thread pop, opt for a lesser coverage thread for the trellis such as a petite silk lame, only 2-3 strands of a pliable thread, or using pepper pot if stitch on a 13 mesh canvas.
